For the past month or so now I've been getting pains in my knees I know shouldn't be there. They're not the best as it is (clicks/grinds when I bend down etc) but this is different. It's ranging from pain in specific areas when walking to both knees feeling hot & inflamed when I'm sitting down at night.
I thought I'd narrowed it down to the early morning road running I was doing so I knocked that on the head. However, a month later there's no change, worse if anything.
It possibly could be either my squat or dead form BUT I've been doing both for 7-8 months solid now so it would surprise me if they've brought it on so suddenly instead of gradually over a period. Plus I never feel any pain during either exercise.
I'm thinking it's either leg extensions or press, both of which have been introduced fairly recently. Leg press is relatively heavy for me and I did feel some pain the other night so I'd edge towards that being the culprit.
Got no idea where this thread is going now as I've pretty much figured it out for myself whilst typing!
I only use ext's as a warm up really anyway so I'm not too fussed about dropping those but it's a shame to lose press as I felt I was progressing well with it. Could anyone then maybe suggest a quad-based exercise I could replace it with that's perhaps less harsh on the joints? (I can hear Cal groan already...)
Oh and is there anything specific I should be doing re the knee pain or is it just a case of drop the above and see if it clears up by itself first?
