| Making Progress | Yes mate, a pitcher for ST LOUIS CARDINALS, died on 22nd June from 2 blockages in arteries, apparently he also had an enlarged heart after the post mortem. The verdict from the coroner was natural causes but the door is left open for future questions about drug/steriod use including ephedra. You guys make your own minds up on this one, personally i think it stinks. Dave. |

| Making Progress | Hey Mark, that guy has taken so many things in his career, it's criminal really i saw him on the t.v. when he was admitted to hospital for his heart thing, how a talent like that can ruin what could have been a legendary career, is this a role model for future generations.??? I dont think so. Dave. |

Seriously, going back to the sportsmen who get caught, the reporting is very one sided all you hear is that soandso has been tested positive for the banned substance xxx and that's it. So, the average human mind goes "Banned=bad=dangerous=I'm gonna die if I go anywhere near etc, etc, etc" But popping half a dozen paracetamol a day constantly for a few years is OK 'cos we can all go and buy those at the 24hr garage! I just wish we lived in a perfect world where the media gave us both sides of the story and allowed us to make up our own minds! OK, putting the soapbox away again! |
