Default My Progress picture

Pic on left is from Janruary 31st 05. On the right was taken today, 19th August 05.

Biggest areas of improvement are the traps and shoulders. The chest and upper abs are better too.

Arms are still the same tho.

Any thoughts? advice?

You are very lean. My advice would be to bulk bigstyle - as garry says, if it aint nailed down eat it!

Eat everything in sight, lift as hard as you can, and you'll get big!

Good work RJ.

I would construct a program based around the basics :

Deadlift
Squat
Barbell rows
Incline barbell press
Standing military press
Chin-ups
Shrugs

If you want to add an inch to your arms...add 100 pounds to your squat. I know that sounds strange, but trust me, it works.

The compound movements listed above require a lot more skill to perform correctly than isolation movements or machine movements. I would suggest hiring a qualified professional to teach you correct form. After you have the movements down, then start adding weight in a progressive manner from week to week. Combine that with a high calorie diet rich in quality protein and you will thicken up.

Thanks for the advice guys.

When the first pic was taken i was about 10.5 to 11 stone. Now im about 12 stone so i have gained some weight, which has been difficult. Ive always been light and im an Ectomorph too.

I do use weight gain and i try to eat alot but low in saturated fats, so hopefully i can bulk up while keeping the abs there.

I also agree with the simple exercises mentioned by GTForce. These are meant to be the best for ectomorphs so i will try and use them more in the future.
Squats i struggle with because my knees suck but im in the process of developing the surrouning muscles. And i have recently bought a chin up bar so hopefully i can make a new program including most of these.

Thanks again guys :-D
