Squatting (heavy) causes the release of extra testosterone, so with more test being released the more muscle you build.

Will try that, i generally dont do squats as i have bad knees and my lack of weights limits me to 24kg anyway, but ill have to try something.

RJ, ive had problems with my knees also mate, at first i was doing squats with free weights which made my knee make a ripping sound, now i use the squat 'machine' at a gym, im not sure what difference it makes, but by using this my knees have been fine ever since.

sean it is proly cos the machine balances it for u and u dont have to step back on the machine with the weight like with free weights.
