Default Big thank you to Dougie Black

I would just like to give a big shout out to DB, from Extreme nutrition. Without DB's help leading up to the event. I realy believe I would not have hit a 900kgs total at 88kgs and done aswel as I did...

I defended my British open title at 90kgs on june 17th and took best pound for pound lifter. The day went realy well, I opened with 315kgs on the squat and nailed it to the chants of the song get down with the sickness(lol) by Disturbed-what a track to get you going. Then I took a gamble and massive jump to 372.5kgs, to take the British record held by British 100kgs champion Marc Cullimore. The lift was smooth..

Then on my third coming out to ACDC's Thunderstruck, with nothing to lose I took a pop at 398.5kgs, the world 90kgs record held by the American legend Jesse Kellum. The descend was mental guys, I have never had such a feeling in my life. It usualy feels like Im controling the weight and this mother was just taking me for a ride, I got a bit anxious and cut the depth by about an inch above parrallel, but on the way up the weight felt easy-I was so shocked.

On the bench press I hit 202.5kgs, I was a lot leaner than when I lifted in the qualifier and didnt feel like I had a lot more in me than that so didnt go heavyer.

On the deadlift I opended with a very easy 300kgs that flew up... I felt realy confident so I jumped to 325kgs.

My second attmept was not so hot, as the bar kept cliping my suit. Three red lights no lift, suddenly all negative thoughts started to creep in and I thought 'aw no, Im not gona get that 900kgs total'.. Luckily I had Bill West and Carl Grange my training partner to hand.. So I took off my thicker canvas lifting suit and went for the Titan NXG deadlift suit.

For my third I came back out for 325kgs again to get my 900kgs total. I ran to the bar like a mad man and just hoisted it off the ground to lock out. I was screaming to the crowd in excitment. I put the weight down only to find it was a miss load and the bar was only 310kgs, I was gutted and had 3 mins to take 325kgs for a fourth. Luckily I came out and got it, then went for 337.5kgs for a fifth and final deadlift but it buried me, ah well maybe next time...

I ended the day with a 900kgs ten times bodyweight total and the first Welsh lifter to win the best lifter at the British. All the hard work payed off, Id realy like to thank DB, my training partners Carl Grange, Richard Brown and Peter Coochs, my mum and dad, my grandparents and my awesome boss at work the mad Irish woman Karin Gardener.

You see bodybuilders bursting with muscle but aren't that strong at times, I think guys like Chris who train for strength first and aesthetics second are awesome and have functional muscles.

Big respect for your lifts, I'm sure Extreme (Dougie) will chip in at some point too.
