| Under Construction | hi can anyone describe functional strength more precisely?Also are bodybuilders really strong or just pumped up ballons.That comment doesnt come from me but from some weightlifter guy who i used to play rugby with, so guys dont try to kill me lol I just thought i could put some life in the forums cos its kinda looking dead. Also does everybody wana compare physiques not as competition but for fun perhaps and give each other advice on what could be improved? ______________________ Never give up.you should enjoy life to the full |

So for example being able to leg press is great, but youve gotta be able to apply that to when you get in the scrum... Bodybuilders at competition state are at their weakest. However you just have to look at guys like markus ruhl, johnny jackson and ronnie coleman to see that they are really strong even close to competition. Compared of course to powerlifters, they generally aren't anywhere near. With the exception of a couple, there are few successful competing bodybuilders who can squat>800lbs, yet thats a pretty entry level heavyweight powerlifter lift.
