| Under Construction Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 63 Rep Power: ![]() | Im in need of advice big time. What weights do the top class 105's get in power-jerk, deadlift, an squat?? (havent trained with strongman equipment yet) an what about the big guys?? My aims are for the absolute top, but i dont know if there realistic, if i could be top class level as a heavyweight i would certainly want to do it, i would love to be britains strongest man, an of course world strongest man, an feel most people are not all that bothered about 105, but im not 300lbs ...advice wanted! |

| Under Construction Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 63 Rep Power: ![]() | im against the use of steroids yes, absolutely, but if id been training for 5-10 years none stop, puting my all in, an i was coming up just a little short no matter how hard i tried (because my competition is using), then like i said, its either quit, or cycle - i will not quit If i could deadlift 800lbs, squat 800lbs, power-jerk 400lbs, hammer curl 300lbs, close the COC number 4 gripper, an i was suited to just about every strongman event, would i be up there with the absolute best??? |

| Under Construction Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 63 Rep Power: ![]() | lol no, id have to chop my legs off for that! - i mean 105kg, the under 231lb strongman division thats absolutely fair enough, an cheers however: >at 6'4 - 205lbs - 15% body fat/lift completely raw, not got a belt yet< - my power-jerk works out at 175lbs - double would be 350 - my deadlift works out at 400, so 800 is double - my squat is around 350, so double would be 700 - hammer curl is 110, so less than 3 x - captain of crush ive done the number 2 for 9 so max works out at 250, 115 to go with that - After a year out from lifting, an never doing any strength training before, ive been training for about 4 months - ive only hammer curled once in years - ive done about 2 proper squat workouts - ive only just now figured out what suits me as far as form on deadlifts goes (went up 20lbs for the same 8-12! damnit!) - i did the number 2 for 9 after less than a weak of having them - ive power-jerked only once - have the ability to put on lots of mass - have large hands After 5-7 years of training, is it really too much?? |

You are wondering whether its possible to deadlift 800 for example - when only the genetically gifted on this earth + shit loads of gear + 100% perfect diet and training + no injuries in about ten years gets them that. | Under Construction Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 63 Rep Power: ![]() | hes huge for 181! very long arms too, looks kinda weird - insane lifting i understand what your saying nick, but it just kinda sucks :-( to me i look at it like, deadlift for instance is 5.6lbs a month for 6 years, should probably go up when i get a belt, an ive only just started, so i expect to be in the 5's before a years out, theres only 3 to go then you talk about how theres only so much you can do, then the rest is your genes..i think i wanna find out what kind of genes i have :-) |
