just watched a tape of this years competition,from memory that has to be the most 1 sided comp for a long time
anyone know whats happened to the other big names like samuelson,sven karlsen etc,injured or what?..also why is jouko ahola one of the marshalls now and not competing...would of thought he,d have given pudzianowski a run for his money in his day

a different breed of strongman nowadays! they are lefting more now on average than a few years back and faster! i would not know where to start lifting the type of weights they are lifting!!!! a lot of the other well known names never made the finals...

Yes a different breed nowadays. It's not so much raw static strength but more a mixture of strength, fitness and endurance.

In the old days there wasnt many competitors that actualy got the 5 stones up on to all the podiums!, now they nealy all do them!.
