Default Shoulder press whats your best ?

I'm curious to know what you guys can shoulder press, I've always thought mine was pretty good at 105kg for 10 reps (standing front press) but I guess I'll find out how good it is when you guys post your best. Does any one know how it compares to the log lift in strongman.

Thanks guys I weigh just under 18 stone. I wouldn't describe myself as huge not with guys like jay cuttler about but my arm is 20" pumped. Keep pluging away at your training, consistency over the years really pays off.

it is good tissue, more than i was doin at 16.

I found constantly changing my weights/sets/reps really brought my press on. It can be a boring excercise if you do the same weights n reps all the time.

50kg at 16 is very good, how long you been training?. Try and stick with the same routine long enough for it to work. when your just starting out you should be able to increase reps on a fairly regular basis. My shoulder routine is:

1st set light warm up 20 reps
2nd set heavy weight 6-12 reps (front military press) wait 2 mins
3rd set drop 10% of weight 6-12 reps (press behind neck) go straight into
4th set 50% of 1st set weight as many reps as possible in front counting slowly to 4 on the way down go straight onto
5th set reduce weight by 40% as many reps as possible

I then burn my delts out with another 4 sets of lateral raises no rest between sets using a weight that allows 8-12 reps counting slowly to 4 on the way down.
ALLWAYS train to complete muscule failiure on all sets as this is what forces the muscle to grow.
Beginers should probably stick to no more than 4 sets total not including warm up.

Default Shoulder press

There a guy in my gym who Shoulder presses dumbell weighing 60Kg each. He doesn't do steroids but he is a very big boy.

He weighs 19 stone but he is in no contest shape he is build more like a strong man.

Not sure on my barbell shoulder press, but my dumbell press best is 45kg dumbells for 10 reps, this was last summer when I was 2.5 stone heavier.

Jason
