| thats weird im working on a search engine for my final year project at this very minute. I'm using mySQL as a platform but with java for an interface so its abit different. i've done a bit of web design, i'm pretty fluent in flash, java and C. Im not too familiar with PHP, doesn't the phpBB come with a search function. It shouldn't be too hard to implement. | |

| thats definately viable. you could assign an id for each query generated and store the query data it in a database along with a unique ID. you would then create a static page with keywords for each query (which the spider will detect). i would then set the static page to automatically forward to a dynamic page where the querydata is retrieved (referenced by the queries unqiue ID). Thats how i would do it anyway. If that makes sense. mySQL is definately a good platform to use. | |
