Bringing gear into the country

Hi guys I have a friend who is off to cyprus and he wants to bring back as much gear as he can. Is this legal, if so how much can he bring back. I have had friends coming back from thailand bringing thousands of dianabol they were stopped then let through because they simply said it was for personal use. Can anyone shine a light on this issure for me, thanks.

As long as you can argue its for personal use then you should be fine.

However I think customs guidlines is £140 retail value.

However I've known quite big guys get away with a lot more cos of how big they are.
