Risks of Clenbuterol

I agree Caymen and I agree my post may have seemed a little gung ho but the doses used in the scientific evidence quoted are so different to the doses used by humans that the comparison is a pointless exercise. The most clen I have used is 1mcg. If I followed the dosing protocol at which this evidence suggests it is a risk I would have to take approximately 175 times the amount I have ingested or a increase of 17500% its pointless to scaremonger in this way.

I consider myself quite an intelligent person and I'm fully aware of the risks which substances pose I think we all our because most of us start from the premise of ' I would never use steriods etc.' My point was that Potassium has been linked to cancer and every substance when abused can have negative effects. At a dose of 175 times the reccomended amount of anything I don't think you would be in a very healthy state.

Anyone for 600 asprins

High doses of the beta2-adrenergic receptor (AR) agonist, clenbuterol, can induce necrotic myocyte death in the heart and slow-twitch skeletal muscle of the rat. However, it is not known if this agent can also induce myocyte apoptosis and whether this would occur at a lower dose than previously reported for myocyte necrosis. Male Wistar rats were given single subcutaneous injections of clenbuterol. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect myocyte specific apoptosis (detected on cryosections using a caspase 3 antibody and confirmed using annexin V, single-strand DNA labelling and TUNEL). Myocyte apoptosis was first detected at 2 h, and peaked 4 h after clenbuterol administration. The lowest dose of clenbuterol to induce cardiomyocyte apoptosis was 1 microg kg(-1), with peak apoptosis (0.35 +/- 0.005 %; P<0.05) occurring in response to 5 mg kg(-1) . In the soleus, peak apoptosis (5.8 +/- 2 %; P<0.05) was induced by the lower dose of 10 microg kg(-1). Cardiomyocyte apoptosis occurred throughout the ventricles, atria and papillary muscles. However, this damage was most abundant in the left ventricular subendocardium at a point 1.6 mm, that is, approximately one-quarter of the way from the apex towards the base. beta-AR antagonism (involving propranolol, bisoprolol or ICI 118,551) or reserpine was used to show that clenbuterol-induced myocardial apoptosis was mediated through neuromodulation of the sympathetic system and the cardiomyocyte beta1-AR, whereas in the soleus direct stimulation of the myocyte beta2-AR was involved. These data show that when administered in vivo, beta2-AR stimulation by clenbuterol is detrimental to cardiac and skeletal muscles even at low doses, by inducing apoptosis through beta1- and beta2-AR, respectively.

Thanks for the additional post raz.

YG i dont doubt for a second mate that your not an inteligent guy but all im trying to do is keep people safe and make sure they are making informed decisions on what compound they are going to take next as thats one of my jobs as a MOD, some people seem to talk about using these compounds as if they were deciding to add an extra sugar in ther tea as if its no big deal, but when your lying in that hospital bed waiting for your tests to come back to see if you have caused irreparable damaged to your heart you find its a very frightening position to be in ...as i did!.

anyway how did you get on with those 600 asprins......has it cleared up the headache?

through education people can make their own decisions.... what might work fine for some people might screw others over.

I suppose clenbuterol experience is like ecstacy - most people have a fine experience, but some have adverse chemical reactions

yeah good point buddy I haven't even come across anyone affected in this way and it does put a different perspective on it
