| Legend Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Birmingham/Bristol Posts: 886 Rep Power: ![]() | Tamoxifen is a SERM (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modifier) - it prevents gyno by binding to estrogen receptors in the breast area, preventing actual estrogen binding there. It's different to things like 6-OXO, which are simply AI (Aromatase Inhibitors) which prevent free testosterone converting to estrogen. The key difference is that Tamoxifen is the only one which can prevent gyno, but it does nothing to reduce circulating estrogen, whereas AIs will reduce circulating estrogen, but cannot help with gyno. |
