Are sterile gloves a bit overkill?

I am about to join the ranks as a pin cushion. Ordering all the gumpf needed and a friend suggested sterile gloves.

Overkill or a worthwhile precaution?

Its not like thier expensive - Medisave 14 for 100 (50 sterile pairs).

Does anyone use them?

If you just wash your hands thoughly with a antibacterial hand wash that will be fine m8
or make sure the person that does it does.

LOL...ya, gloves are probablly overkill and you dont need a sterile O.R. type environment...do make sure you use alcohol on the vial top each time and on your injection site and use a new pin each time...and i wouldn't shoot in your dirty ass bathroom that you haven't cleaned in 10 weeks!...gloves more protect the wearer than anything else and since you are injectining your self, i doubt you have any reason to be worried about your own blood getting on you...

as long as you dont touch the pin you should be fine, you can get alcohol based handwipes if you're paranoid

ya, i always either used the alcohol prep pads or just a cotton ball soaked in alcohol...
