Hey fellows, new to the board here.

I'll tell you the stereotype that I hate most. When people take a look at someone with extra muscle as being uneducated. Drives me crazy. A few years ago before I made a career change I was a highschool teacher. While working out one day at our local gym, a female approached me and said, "I heard your a teacher. Do you enjoy teaching P.E." I know that she was trying to make small talk but experienced this sort of stereotype all of my adult life. I replied that I don't teach P.E. However, that I teach biology" I then stated that I have a degree in cell physiology with a minor in chemistry. What made you think that I taught P.E.? Her reply was that I lifted weights.

Sorry to rant. Has this happend to anyone else?

Daffy

Yeah well, as redspy/divie put it, too many idiots who know **** all have way too much to say on the matter.

Training to a high level takes a LOT of research and maybe not pure intelligence, but it's smarter than sitting on your ass watching tv 5 hours per day.

I think we have all heard the same old shit from people who wouild like to look like us but cant be bothered to train or to put any of the hard work in. So the next easiest step is to mock us and come up with a reason why we look like we do-thus we only look like we do because we take steroids!!!! and that is the explanation they tell everyone "i could look like that if i took steroids" is my personal favourite. But hey ho im 18st 5lb bf of 13% and i just dont give a **** what people think and say and i'm just to old in the tooth to change my bad habits now.

Ignorance is rampant. I once saw a story on television about gear and they had a scene of someone injecting drugs INTRAVENOUSLY!!!

Obviously this was not someone taking steroids (at least I hope not!) but the reporter decided to throw the footage in his story nevertheless. He then goes on a rant about the dangers of gear. Please...learn about your subject matter first. Most critics of steroid use suffer from that same sort of lack of credibility.

The number one factor in bodybuilding is genetics, plain and simple. After that comes diet, training and attitude. Gear contributes maybe 10%. Sure, some young guys get on gear and blow up, but check them out in a decade. They will look like shit 9 times out of 10. The guys with the best builds have genetics, consistent eating habits and, most importantly, just love to train.

what is cheating ?nothing is classed as cheating until it`s outlawed-you could argue that before their ban(30?years ago), users of steroids could be classed as natural.

Mate, what did you mean by them looking like shit 10 years later? Please be more specific as I am curious,

thx

It's obvious that a large amount of the users of this website all take steroids.
Personal opinion? i wouldn't touch them. Mainly because of a lack of knowledge, i see no end of posts about shrunken genitals and hair loss etc. I can't see why its worth risking any of that.

I enjoy working out, and staying fit, thats enough for me. I don't class steroids as cheating but i don't respect anyone i see on steroids who has a great body either.

But i do have a lack of knowledge of steroids so what i think is probably very wrong.
