The letters HDL stand for high density lipoprotein. A lipoprotein is a particle in our bloodstream that is made up of a lipid (fat or cholesterol) and protein. An HDL particle has a small amount of cholesterol and a large amount of protein. We call this the "good cholesterol" because having a high amount of HDL can offer some protection against heart disease. HDLs actually carry cholesterol away from our blood vessels to be degraded. HDL cholesterol can be increased by quitting smoking, losing weight, and exercising regularly.......... m1t and other roids are known to reduce HDL so will exercising while staying of gear bring these levels back to normal? are there any other ways to increase it? |

There are a few steps you can take to improve your lipid profile like the following:- - Reduce saturated fat and hydrogenated fat in your diet. - Increase your fiber intake, use whole grain sources, and eat plenty of fruit and veggies - Do cardio - Take supplements like garlic, plant sterols/stanols, Red yeast rice and vitamin C. When you're off the gear you stand a much better chance of getting your cholesterol levels back within the normal range. ______________________ IronArena.com |
