And are the Faulkland Islands anywhere near the Falkland Islands? Although Wales, Scotland and England are all part of the U.K. each one has its own flag, national anthem, national dress and language. If your English, Scottish or Welsh you consider yourself that, after all in the middle ages each was a seperate country with it's own reigning monarch and royal family, there were plenty of battles fought between us and historicaly all three countries are part of the English empire as the English eventually conquered them. If you ever get over here exaktley never call a full blooded Welshman or a Scot English or even British they don't like it.... Anyway back on topic

A lot of modern Scottish culture has roots in Ireland, for instance Celtic and Rangers the two main Football teams in Glasgow have a rivarly that goes beyond just football. It goes back to Protestant and Catholic hostlities in Ireland with Celtic representing Catholic and Rangers Protestant and both teams are supported just as fiercly in say Belfast as they are in Glasgow. I also found this on a website search that you may find of interest. "The term "Scotch-Irish" is an Americanism, generally unknown in Scotland and Ireland, and rarely used by British historians. In American usage, it refers to people of Scottish descent who, having lived for a time in the north of Ireland, migrated in considerable numbers to the American colonies in the eighteenth century." The Scotch-Irish, A Social History, pg. i - James G. Leyburn. So next time some no neck with no brain in his head shows his ignorance of your heritage you can set him straight ![]()
