When i started roids when i was 18 there wasnt this wealth of knowledge called the internet and it was still frowned upon to write books about it, so you had to listen to people who use, this is where the problem starts. If like me you get a complete wanker giving out the advice it can really screw you up. I was sold some tablets for my 1st bulking cycle, that was 15yrs ago and to this day i cant find them anywhere in books or the net, i was told to take 5 a day all together and after 2 weeks when i saw him again he sold me Sus and Winny injections i was told this was a typical cycle, the prick told me to mix the sus and winny in the same pin. I soon found out that 1s oil and 1s water based as after an hour of shaking they wouldnt mix. I decided to knock it on the head as i was sweating alot and had bad cramps, i ended up in hospital with severe kidney strain. The moral of the story is find out exactly what your taking before you put it in your body and have complete trust in the person giving advice. So i guess i fit right in this section for stupid things people do with roids |

Before the internet(gasp) it was hard to find good info. Fakes were abundunt as well. Here in the US we had to go to Mexico and smuggle them back to get decent prices and then you could still buy fakes OTC at Mexican Pharmacias. The Underground Steroid Handbook was the real first source for good information in the States. Pros wouldn't talk about it or blanket denied their usage. Their routines published in magazines left followers overtrained, weak, and demoralized as they were smaller than before they started their new Pro routines. Understandable but kept an air of mystery about it. Medical textbooks stated, "erroniously thought to enhance athletic performance" under drug descriptions. Ben Johnson's Gold Medal at the Seoul Olympics and subsequent positive test for Winstrol created a frenzy for steroids. You couldn't find Winny and if you did the mark-up was so outrageous you couldn't afford it. If a bro had a significant supply of Winny back then he could of retired in a year on his own South Pacific island. A magazine called Muscle Media 2000(now just Muscle Media) run by Bill Phillips featured steroids in their magazine and an open and honest attitude about them. Dan Duchaine was introduced to a mass audience for the first time. Finally good solid info was getting out their along with good quality books. Muscle Media has changed 180 degrees and Dan Duchaine has sadly passed away. The internet began to blossom and things took off. A bit slowly but look around now. It's easy to find good cycle/drug info. Sources are sometimes another matter as with the increased trafficking of steroids comes alot of fake gear and scammers. It's profitable on a much larger scale now to scam/fake. Increased trafficking has also increased law enforcement's attention. It's been a little good and a little evil. Overall I think we've come a long long way. We're using safer and smarter. Running pct is common instead of used by a select few. Side effects are lessened with the affordable use of anti-aromitase drugs. Older effective steroids like parabolin, turinabol, and others have made a return due to customer demand. Homebrewing is now more common. The truth about Pro bodybuilders usage is coming out more and more(though dosage and exact drugs is still a bit of a mystery) along with professional athletes usage. My first cycle was Laurabolin in a diamond pattern cycle-couldn't have been more dissapoited. Gained 3 pounds. Bad advice at the gym but nobody knew better. Second cycle was laurabolin, sustanon 250 redi-jects(18 guage ouch). Did much better and gained 18 pounds. 3rd cycle was the same but with finaplix mixed with DMSO applied topically. Gained another 15 pounds. Those were the days! Today I wouldn't touch laurabolin with a 20 foot poll. There's simply no need to mess with such a low dosed mg/ml drug with such a long acting ester. It's taken a while for steroids to come into the light a bit more but with info so abundant now it is much safer and healthier with so many choices of steroids. |
