I am 41 ad I am struggling to make any more gains. I intend to research what and how I take them but my main concern is am I too old and how much harm can I do to myself. Also, do the steroids strengthen joints and tendons as well as this is occasionally my weekness , ie Back, forearms etc. Thanks |

Yeah your right you will start to lose you muscles & not gain at your ages, (sorry, not agest just a fact of life), your test production is slowing down fast. I can't say that roids will not have an effect on your health as I am not your DR but they will help you gain muscle. Personally if I were your age I would be more likely to use roids because as I said your test production is slowing anyway so would not worry me too much about going infertile ect.. They do not help to strenghthen your tendons/ ligaments. | |

At this time of life it is even more important to focus on your diet with regards atherosclerosis and heart disease when using steroids as well. Also, consider what steroids might affect your sex drive as some can kill it completely at this age. There's a few oldies around the board, if you need any help just hollah |

It's always best to get a check-up by the doctor before starting taking roids but that applies to anyone at any age. You should be able to make really good gains at relatively low dosages. There are plenty of guys out there training well into there fifties and they can shift alot more weight than the young wipper snapper's on this site . I'm 37 and I'm bigger and stronger now than ever and I heard bill pittuck say the same in this years strongman and he's in his early fourties. Steroids don't actually strengthen tendons and joints but they do cause water retention which lubricates the joints and this in a way will strengthen them as you can lift much more weight with out any discomfort. I must admit I get injuries more easily now than in my 20's and they take longer to heal but the way round that is to warm up propperly and never lift if the joint is causing you pain. ______________________ If its not nailed down EAT it. |

Stick to more highly anabolic stuff rather than androgenics to keep down the nasties, also get yourself some literature to read so you can educate yourself and form your own opinions or at least have a grasp on any advice you are given. I took peoples advice when I first started who were less intelligent than me and their knowledge was only what they had heard of the dealer, it was not the best advice I could have had at the time. Get a book called "Chemical Muscle Enhancement", its not too heavy and is very informative. There is a link on my site to the site where you can order the book. ______________________ www.extremenutrition.co.uk - 25% OFF FOR ALL MC MEMBERS, discount code MCD25. www.betterbodies.uk.com Seriously cheap sports nutrition!
