It's become a ritual for me, i go through all the usual motions of flicking the top of the barrel to remove the air bubbles, changing needles between extracting the gear from the amp and injecting, etc. But i get tense about sticking the needle in, so i do it slowly with the finest tipped needle i can get away with, and stick it in my glute where i'll feel it least. Normally everything goes to plan. I stick it in, inject slowly, withdraw slowly... and then mentally tell myself off for getting stressed. This time, however, I was injecting 1250 IU of HCG. It's really thin fluid so i use a blue tip 1.25" needle. So, as usual, i inject slowly, i feel it pierce the skin and then i 'think' i feel it pierce the muscle. I leave a few millimeters of needle showing and i inject. Then, when i'm withdrawing the needle, something weird happens. It's difficult to explain how it felt, but i was like i was suddenly going up in an elevator ... but whatever it was i could feel it unmistakably on my consciousness. I panic a little, withdraw the needle quickly and toss it to one side. I'm alarmed and i find myself concentrating on the way that i feel. I start breathing quickly and i can feel my heart pumping hard in my chest. I realise my hands are shaking and i start to worry that I've 'damaged' myself and that this is going to get worse and worse. It didn't. It seemed to just evaporate over the next minute or so. But it was a real, unmistakable, jolt while it lasted. I've injected steroids before, and HCG before, but i've never experienced anything like this. The HCG was mixed (crystals and solvent) 10 minutes prior to injecting so i'm reluctant to think that it had gone off. Perhaps some or all of the fluid was injected into the flesh above the muscle and it was simply carried in my blood stream throughout my system. But it felt the way i imagine an injection of adrenaline might feel (though i've never had it). Or perhaps i was just unlucky and injected into a vein. In which case, shit, i'm glad it wasn't oil. But i don't know. And it concerns me that i don't know. So if any of you guys have experienced this, or anything like this, please do let me know. I'd be very interested to hear what you think. cheers bjt |

It appears someone else had a similar experience injecting EQUI. My guess it that i injected some or all into a vein. Of-course, this kind of thing is rare, but it goes to show that it does happen and it IS worth taking precautions against it happening... particularly if it's a huge great wad of something in an oil base. The advice there was to use a fine needle and do SubQ injections into the fatty area around the belly button. Which seems entirely reasonable to me. cheers bjt edited 19/04/04 |

Steriods are designed to be injected to the muscle only. You need to pull on the plunger a bit too see if your in a vein first and if no blood comes up your free ton inject. Its v dangerous in the blood stream so you should always always asperate! ______________________ You can never have enough protein! |

| Under Construction | Stop being such a moron! A little bit of research on google.com will tell you my friend that all you have done is to catch a nerve on the way out. Did you thin your ass had no feelings?! Take it from me, if you inject water into a vein you can die, if you inject air, you can die, if you inject HCG you WILL die. Take this as gospel because its going to happen again. You hit a nerve comming out, usuallu it happens when going in. Either way its scary at the time but it dont mean nothing! The shaking of the hands and shit is just you panicking about nothing, and the lump there after is just trauma to the injection site which will die down with a gentle massage. Hope that helped dvorin |
