Default body parts once a week?

Hi everyone. Just started a new gym and was lucky enough to fall in with some pretty hardcore guys who live and breathe body building. They've got me in on their routine which is basically each bodypart once a week and roughly 10 sets per bodypart. I was previously doing each bodypart twice a week( and have been known to go to 3 times a week!). My new training partners assure me that was too much and i should see some very big gains with this new routine. Is any one currently doing this routine, or have done it and what do you think? I am actually trying to bulk up. Cheers fellas.

HI banjo, welcome to the board, at the moment i am only training 3 days a week, obviously everyone differs, i couldnt say honestly what would be the best answer to give you, but have no doubt most of the guys on the site have excellent knowledge 1 way or another so you will get plenty of feedback.

Yep I agree with Benji on that one I go to the gym 4 times a week and train every part once - Except sometimes my abs which I may do twice!

Keep it up mate!

If u are not convinced training just once a week u can try every five days
four days training and one day u rest.It depends what problems u have on your mind besides body building.I f u have a sterss free life u can try to train every five days

The best way is trial and error, but once a week for the whole body works for me ok. Just be carefull you dont over train.

Please posts these questions in the training forum and not the steriods one

most guys never train hard enough to move upwards. Id say these guys are probably right. Arnold used to do 4 sets of dumbell inclines at different angles before he started on the bench.

Yeah thats a good point. The pros do enjoy a freedom others dont.
If you only manage to hit the gym twice a week then doing one body part is no good.
