Default Just back into training

Hi All,
Have just joined this board today so thought I would tell you a little about myself.
I'm just back into training after a three year layoff following a serious back injury.
Before my injury I was training for my first strongman comp and was weighing in at just over 340 at around 13%.
Now, well I'm still around 310 but more like 20% I'm afraid but I have to re-start somewhere.
I'm looking to keep as much lean weight as possible and cut down on that excess rubbish and am hoping at some point over the next 12 months or so am hoping to compete in a bench press comp.
Hope I've not bored you all......

Two discs right at the bottom are completely prolapsed and I'm also told that I have something called degenerative disc disease. When I damaged it I was also told that I have lordosis of the lower spine which means that it curves in more than usual.
Guess I shouldn't have been deadlifting 380kg and squatting 320kg for so long......

I finally saw the consultant after about 11 months because my GP of the time 'forgot' to refer me !!!! The joke is I work for the NHS and have done for the past 13 years !!
When I saw the consultant things had settled down to a point where he thought he could potentially do more damage by operating. I have been seeing an osteopath and had a time at acupuncture for the pain. Now I use pain meds when needed, lots of heat and the osteo every now and then.
What about you mate ?? What's your story ??
