how tall are you mate as that is a great factor in body weight, but if you are in doubt consult your doctor for a check up before embarking on any strenuous exercise.

check with him then get back to us and we'll sort ye out ;-)

and kev, for the last time if you dont stop under rating yourself or you will be on the recieving end of me FURY. your progress has been fantastic, youve put nearly 60kg on your bench since you started training in feb what more do ye want lol.

in general, muscle takes more energy for the body to maintain than fat does so...the more muscle you have the better your body will be able to manipulate the fat you have stored.

Default USE IT TO LOSE IT

Yoou should statr a good.. basic program now. Dont wait to lose the weight. The lifting will add muscle which will inturn burn more fat.

Go out ang get The Gold's Gym Guide to Weight Training. I learned to lift on that years ago, and it was great...it has all of the basic exercises + some good routines...although the Boydbuilders would be dated. Mike Mentzer is long dean, and the Barbarians vanished....time martches on.
