Default Injury (a big one at that)

Hi there, I'm just new to this, but happy I found it, I live in australia NSW, have been training now for about 6 to 7 years, I love to train, can't get enough of it. 10 months ago I was at my biggest and strongest I'd ever been, (wont go into what I was lifting, but even I was impressed), but then the dreaded injury happened, I was doing my final couple of reps of shoulder press, then I got a bad pain in my back (just under the shoulder blad), had to get weights taken of me (this was a weight i usualy did pretty comfortably), was taken to hospital, hit with pain killers, blaa blaa blaa, to cut long story short, I ended up fracturing my 6th vertibrea and tearing a muscle in my back (not sure which one), was in a world of pain. 10 months down the track, I'm back into the training, BUT I've got a couple of problems, my right peck and right outer tricep isnt growing at all, only about 10% of my right peck is working properly, and only the inner part of my tricep is working, (very depressing), what I'm inquiering about, is if anyone has experienced anything like this, what did they do about it, will the muscle come back? also will some kind of suplement assist in the healing process, I'm pretty desperate at present, hard to come from what i was doing to what I'm doing now. So if anyone has any info or an answer, please pass this info on to me, I will be greatly appritiative, I've never taken steriods, but I tell you what, I'm pretty damn close to changing my way of thinking. Thank you heaps for your time and patience, patience in reading this novle I have written.

That's pretty strange that those two parts of your body aren't responding now. If it's a nervous system problem, there's probably nothing that can be done to help it. If it's not, maybe try to make sure your form is down pat, and while you're at it, hit those muscles solo for a while to make sure they get some extra training. If all else fails, maybe try some test suspension injected directly into those muscles everyday.

Thanks for that, its pretty hard to take, seeming I was going so well with it all, my back and biceps and legs of coarse are all okay, and they are getting stronger, but these bloody chest and tricep are bugging me big time, even the shoulders are week, but they are slowly coming back, I,m back to a 90lbs dumb bell shoulder press, but its hard to do, use to do that as a warm up, (not to good for the ego).

Again thanks for the response, I will try both, also I'm gonna go see another doctor in regards to all this, hopefully its not a nerve thing, I'll see.

Thanks agian.

yeah most doctors are not very clued up when it comes to bodybuilding.

i think thats a good idea about going to get a second opinion.

it could make all the difference.

injuries are a bitch bro, i know i've had a few and they can take years to heal.

Sounds like your probs are a bit beyond advice on a web site, see the doc and find out exactly what your dealing with and get back to use.

I know if i've a bad injurry and all else has failed a course of anapalon does the trick but thats muscle joint or tendon

thanks for that, going to see the GP tomorrow, 2/1/05, hopefully he can direct me in the right direction, touch wood anyway, hope things work out.

hasn't stoped me though, the muscles that do work i'm still hitting them pretty hard and loving it, just hard to go to the gym and train chest, shoulders and triceps, as there the stuffed ones, again hopefully i'll get some good news tomorow.

Thanks agian, for your advice, i'm getting pretty desperate, thats why I've got on to this forum, hopeing I'd hear from someone who may have gone through something simular.

well chat later, will keep ya posted on the recovery (if any that is, just a tad negitive).
