Helle e1 , just to introduce myself. I am 35 years old and have been weight training for the past 15 years. However this has always been to supplement other sports (Rugby & martial arts) I now want to concentrate on getting as big & strong as possible, don't now if I have left it to late though. What do ya reckon! advice, thoughts greatly appreciated.
I am 6' & 14stone 34" waist 43" chest ( just to give you a rough idea of my current size)

I am not ready for the scrap heap and can still train hard. The gym I have acces to is small and basic.

Hope to get replies

cheers 7 kind regards

Ok first what are ure stats height weight etc

2nd its never too late bro ure not the oldest on the site by any means that i know of and assume u have a reasonable phsique bcoz of the rugby and martial arts so u will have a decent base to start from.

And we all **** up posts from time to time just makes it a more interesting read take it easy

welcome to the board paddi

never too late

how is your diet?

are you having lots of protein?

this is the main thing you need to focus on.

to get as big and strong as possible you will need to bulk up.

does the gym you use have plenty of free weights?

Many Thanx for the response fellas

My training at the mo consists of

mon - Soulders Tri abs
Tue - Legs
Wed - Cardio
Thu - Chest bi abs
Fri - back Forearms

I am 6 foot & Just weighed today at 14st 2 lb

Problems are diet,
I try to eat 1lb - 1.5lb of protien per pound of body weight as I have read this to be the right ratio, started on whey protien 2 weeks ago and have three shakes a day ( about 15Og of Protien) seems to be helping, as I feel better , training harder. I'm sure I don't take in enough carbs though

Main weakness is alcohol - like a bottle of red on a friday and about 10 pints on a saturday night, don't drink durring the week though.
do you reckon this will hold me back !

The gym I can train at ( I live in small rural town) Has full set of d/bells , but no bars, It has a smith machine, Leg Press, Leg curl/Leg ext .Paralel bars an more. I Like to stick to basics , big compound movements.

Any way sorry to waffle on any advice or general info gratefullly recieved

yours in sport

You need at least 1.5 grams protein and 2 grams carbs per pound of bodyweight a day but dont take in too much in one go spread it out over as long a time as possible that way it is available when needed. If your not on roids then i think your body can only absorb about 20 grams of protein in 2 hours however that is greatly increased when steroids are used. the alcohol shouldnt be too much of a problem you gotta have some fun right.

Training dont look to bad but train back and biceps same day and train shoulders the day after chest as shoulders play a big role in chest work so training them coinsecutive days gives the shoulders longer to recover. You could up the training frequency by doing chest shoulders and triceps same day but if your making consistent gains with this routine then stick to it if it works dont fix it.
