Default G'day from Down Under!!

I thought I'd say a quick G'day...

It's true about the board here -it's fantastic, and there's a good bunch of people making sensible contributions.

A bit about myself: I've been training off and on for a few years, but have never really made any gains. I've been told I'm an ectomorph which is basically a skinny guy who has a pretty fast metabolism!

So, I've joined forces with Ben from synergisedfitness.com to try to bulk me up a bit. It's going pretty well, but the site isn't totally up and working yet -give it another week or so. Basically, he's putting my routines online, and I'm following through and submitting my daily progress, diet and thoughts as we go. It should be something a little new and worth a quick browse.

I'm certainly not trying to poach any guys from this board (how can we compete anyway). I think we offer a different service, with a much smaller forum. It's more so you can see my development. We started about 3 weeks ago and I'm feeling and seeing some pretty good gains so far. There will definitely be pictures every 2 weeks so you can see the progress.

Ben really knows his stuff and I know I'm going to achieve the goals we've set out. I have 4 months to reach 80kgs, do a one-armed chin-up and grow out of my current suit! Wish me luck and hard work!

Yours in Health and Fitness,

Jim

Thanks for the cudo's...

We've fixed the links now and the first week and a half are up, including my before photos so you can see the materials I've got to work with! I think we'll have the rest up in a couple of days -we're up to week 3 now but need to iron out some "teething problems" with the site. Neither of us have any web design skills and we're pretty much learning as we go...

I hope that my dedication will motivate others to follow their training goals.

Jim

Just been looking through your traning log! looking good mate, keep up the hard work!

Strange question.... but how do you record all your lifts, do you take a pen and paper to the gym? I did it once but as I was the only one to be doing so, I stopped!

Hi mate, When you say its true about the board, are you saying that someone or some people have passed on good vibes about this board, in as far away as Australia. Just interested to hear that the board is making an impact in so distant a country in such a short time.

Actually mate, I was reading a few of the other posts and they had some positive things to say about the board. Ben put me onto it as well -he's in Sweden at the moment so not so far away from you guys! I've noticed there have been a few Aussies and Kiwis browsing the board -through this beautiful creation called the internet, the world is indeed getting smaller

Cheers, I'm trying to bulk a bit but it seems everyone that bulks here needs to cut down afterwards. Ben says it's not necessary and I should be able to put on lean muscle. I am, but not heaps yet (about 1.5 kg -3.3lb- in 3 weeks). Do you know how fast the drug-free guys bulk up? I'm wondering if I'm doing alright just putting on lean muscle. My body fat has gone down a bit too...

I hear ya re: the records -I've actually gone one step further than just pen and paper. I use a Palm m515 and software called workout tracker. http://standalone.com/palmos/workout_tracker/ Sometimes I feel a bit geeky, but I'm watching my gains go up and up. Because I do a different body part each week, if I didn't know exactly what weight I was using last time I'd forget. I try improve either a rep or a weight everytime I'm at the gym and I couldn't do that if I wasn't keeping regular records.

I get a few strange looks at the gym sometimes, but the regulars are seeing the method behind my madness now. I'm improving much faster than the guys that just select a weight depending on how they feel on the day. Besides, I love looking back and seeing my improvements. Someone once said "if it's worth doing, it's worth recording". If you're not keen to fork out a hundred pound or so for the Palm I reckon pen and paper should do the trick fine!

Jim

Default Hello!

Hello m8!
Great that there is fans of this forum all the way down under.
Here in the states it's seemes that other sights are contained. But luckily, here the sport can show it's genuine side, the training, feedback and the like, is really much deserved. Hoping to see some issues to reply to very soon! Thanx m8!
