| Making Progress | Hi everyone. Just joined the board today and from what I've read so far, it sounds good!! I have been training 6 times a week for the past month or so and my aim is to reduce a slight amount of body fat around my naval, lean-up in general, and build some serious muscle - could do with a decent set of pecs! Anyway, my plan of attack for all this is in 4 parts - exercise, diet, supplements & sleep. I am using all four to hopefully improve my physique. My questions is tho, does anyone know when I will start to see some real results? I am 80kg, eat 6 meals a day (plenty of protein and some carbs), loads of water, and use Nectar Whey Protein, together with complete multi-vitamins & mineral supplements. Also 1000mg of Flaxseed oil dailly too. Was planning to use 1-AD for a month also. Any advice on all this? I realise this should probably be split amounst a couple of forums, but I'm new Cheers, Simon |

| Making Progress | Hi Steve, Cool board by the way. I have been hunting for a good mesage board that has good info. This one is just what I was looking for. Anyway, to answer your question about my calories intake - I am taking in approx 3000 cals a day. Is that too little? My metabolism is fasy and I do find it hard to gain lean muscle. When you say 'bulking', does that mean adding calores to my diet in order to add fat? I'm not to familiar with what bulking is. I've heard a few people trying to do it, and just winding up with a fat gut. What do you recommend? Cheers, Si Quote:

Bulking is eating enough to put on muscle and cutting is when you restict your calories slightly to lose fat. It normally takes about a good 4-6 weeks before you will really notice some results, bit it can depend on genetics and drugs etc. Stick to compound movements mainly whether building or cutting as they form the basics of any exercise plan and when you have been training for a while then look at isolation exercises to target your muscles from all angles. Best of luck! |
