the qualifications are quite expensive (ie the course fees) but its easy to pick up and if your interested in fitness/training then also fun. I have a few friends who are PT's and you won't get taken on without qualifications (unless you did it privately obviously or through the net) but once you have them apparently its quite easy

i did a home correspondence course with a company called ICS for a wabba qualification.
tbh ive done the coursework-then stopped work for various reasons and put the final exams on hold am now waiting for an exam to be held locally....
i`m currently training 6 peeps for free to make sure i can pass on the knowledge i have.
personally i dont think having lots of qualifications means your gonna make a great coach tho-
i think its how you pass the knowledge on...
i`m now getting some solid results from the peeps i`m training...
planning to update my PT thread when i can pull my finger out with some pics.
in fact i`ll be double honest and say i`ll continue training peeps how i train myself rather than from pure wabba info i`ve learned.
soon as i get my qualification i`ll be going legit

imeho my siggy says it all

Well ive been looking to do a course like this to and been reading the thread with interest, so this morning ive looked around and seems like the best qualification is the YMCA one which is the most reconised. One company charges £1,995 to obtain the qualification and another charged only £475.00 + £250 to obtain the qualification with support for 12 months.

So i brought the course and looking to give at least 20 hours a week to it and have it finnished in 6 months. Link from where i brought my course from is below.

The YMCA one gives you addition support for 12 months.
