Default 'Warm' Bag (aka Cool Bag)

Gents,

Do any of you take hot food to work? Does a cool bag suffice? How long does the food stay hot/warm for?

Getting bored of cold chicken!

I always thought a cool bag was made to keep food cool...

Maybe you should get a small microwave at work.

In theory the same principle applies as its an insulated reflective space.

A microwave would be the easy option - sadly the Health & Safety rules on site prevent it being a viable option

your food would stay warm dude, wrap it in foil then pack it tightly in the bag no loose space, that way it will stay warm for hours. Did you know you can get comaping microwaves, stick one in your boot and rig it up to your cigarett lighter jobs a goodun.

I'll give it a try tomorrow - cheers mate.

I would get a Camping Microwave but I park about 1/2mile away from the clients site so that would be a pain to go out and heat the food lol!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Tupperware meals :-) I've started thinking chicken and Turkey taste odd when warm.

On a more serious note and I'm a bit anal about this one… one of the guys at the gym ended up with Salmonella and lost about 3 stone he used to wrap his chicken and other food in foil and bubble wrap to keep warm in a cool bag wouldn't warm chicken be more prone to food poisoning as the bacteria would multiply faster in humid conditions? Isn’t the the whole idea of a cool bag with the ice box to preserve the quality etc

Whack some spices on the chicken it will taste better and its better than kneeling in the bath with it running from both ends…

Oh I wouldn't do it on chicken (or indeed pork...) I just really fancy a nice bit of hot/warm beef. (Im a bit funny about chicken reheating...)

(My chicken is always either spiced or covered in black pepper!)
