Default The passing of a hero!

It is my sad duty to report that the late great

BRIAN BALMER

has passed away.
I recieved a phone call from Paul J last nigh to inform me that he has suffered a heart attack the previous wednesday. Everyone will recognise Brian as the Masters o50 champion who was blind and hed to be assisted in getting on and off stage.

he was a shining example to us all of what the discipline of bodybuilding can overcome.

I'm sure I speak for everyone in passing on our depest condolences to his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed

yes i heard about this last week.. but didnt know the circumstances so didnt want to make comment!

Brian was a great competitor and from what i have seen of him a true gentleman!

its a big loss to our sport! if i remember correctly did he get 2nd in the over 50s at the UKBFF British Finals this year?

here he is winning the over 50s at the UKBFF North East in september this year:

I met him a few times, nice guy who trained and competed because he loved it just for the sake of it.

I first spoke to him after hearing his music was always a Metallica track, utmost respect and a sad loss to a sport with more than its share of egotistical nutcases.

This gets even sadder.

I read today that Mal Evans who placed 3rd behind Brian Balmer in the over 50s at this years British also passed away within a week of the show. That's 2 out of the top three in their class pass away within a fortnight of the champs.

Very sad news
