i hate sitting in an office all day!!

mind when i was about 18, the university i work for had a campus out in the countryside... at a posh hotel... with a golf course.... me and my boss used to spend a few weeks of the summer up there working on the IT stuff.... wed go in first thing in morning... see the lasses in the office.... and tell them that we were contracted out to work in the hotel that day so they could get us on the mobiles..... lol... then wed be out the back door.. into the car and round to teh golf club.... who incidentally we had "lent" some equipment..... so we had free 18 holes of golf... free lunch and free couple of pints.... we did this for like 3 days a week for about 8 weeks straight!! lol... and i was still sh*t at golf!!!

not a bad way to get paid tho!

the feelings mutual my friend...if you think im hugging a pretty boy you got another thing coming

besides i didnt wanna sound flash or nuffink...but it is my firm so not often i get me hands dirty no more...just as well as nowadays im too much of a jessy for all that hard work lark,and i aint got the brains for a proper office,so this wooden shack does me just fine

seems like everyone on here has a university background...has the iron game come up a few notches or are the uni mob sinking to new lows

hi neil glad you have registered on here, will you be able to put so photos up so everyone can see who you are, neil had a good year competing even if he doesnt agree he competed in the nabba universe which is a great acheivement

I don't know about the "having a good year" bit though started off pretty cool. Probably my crowning moment was the NABBA British. No I didn't compete, I actually worked stage management, helping all the competitors stay nice an' chilled. I got more positive feedback from that than possibly ALL the competitions I've actually entered. And I've been asked to do backstage at more shows (5!) than I've actually been asked to enter (1). Strange that eh??

i could go into just how bad a year it got since then but I don't wanna have you all needing psychiatrists, and i wouldn't wanna put people off competeing themselves. Just coz one persons crap at it doesn't mean everyone will be!

you sound like a humble type of dude neil and thats rare nowadays....i dont know you from adam but by the sound of it if you,ve got far enough to compete at a decent level,which says to me you have the mentality for it as i doubt anyone gets a free ride to that level...if you got that far then throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may.....chuck the backstage bit to the side and get on the front of it...hopefully things will go your way...if not...you had a go and got further than most.

personally dont think you showed the best of yourself this year Neil mate... (not a dig im just honest with people) but the potential is there for all to see! no harm in coming in not looking your best tho... i know alot of lads who know they are not 100%.... and mysteriously develop strange illnesses and injuries before a show... if people are scared of being beaten they will never improve!
