Anyone been hypnotised?

Sounds daft but I have an woman advertising in the mag I run and in tempted to try some hypnotherapy for increased concentration/determination/focus that kind of thing.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience or knows someone that has.

A lot of people are dubious as to wether or not this actualy works. I for one am a beleiver despite the fact that I used a crap hypnotist to help me stop smoking last year. He was convinced he had hypnotised me and wouldn't have it when I said it didn't work. An hour later I lit a cig! :?
I do beleive you may need to be susceptible to it and that the person doing it needs to be competent.

well stumpy on a good note i was lead to beleve you could not be hipnotised if you were a smart person,so i guess u need to be a bit dim for it to work lol

It works but it is very dependent on who your therapist is. If you don't have success with one, try another.

The biggest misconception about being "under" is that you are unaware of what is going on. The reverse is true; your body is asleep but your mind is awake and in hyper-drive.

Excellent, thanks for the replies. She has had good success with stopping people smoking and i personnaly know one of her clients so i think ill give it a shot!

I think getting hypnotised by a bob watch etc is complete nonsense or any other form of that nature to be perfectly honest no matter how high the level of a psychaitrist or psychologist or gypsie guy.

Splint, Hypnosis has been around too long and had too many success stories to be considered fraudulant!! On what do you base your opinion??

The sessions are supposed to be 60 but she will only charge 40 per session. She is respected by other business people i have met through this magazine and has stopped a few people smoking dead, in one session!

Theres nothing to lose i reckon, and what if it works??
