Personally I don't care, can't / don't drink as it is detrimental to my goals (and not advisable when on cycle)

dont drink really, but i think it should be highly regulated, i.e. only allowed in areas where public safety might be put at risk, over 21s for past 11pm etc

well i think that i would work cause when i used to drink i used to go out at like 9.30 and drink as much as i could cause i new that i only had like a few hours to drink so personaly i think that it will give people more time to drink and they might space there drink out and in the end less people might end up drinking as much...but i doubt it

When i was younger i used to drink after work on a friday, i'd have about 9 pints then go home to get changed for the evening. Quite a few times i would fall asleep and wake up at about 12 and miss the night. Basically you were buggered cus nowhere was open, but with 24hr drinking i could of got up and popped back to the pub. Now thats a knackered liver just waiting to happen.

Englands drink problem is about as worse as it can get, by doing this 24hour opening we are just creating a living hell.

I think its a terrible idea.

How can the government say "we want to crack down on binge drinking" one day, then the next day say "were gonna be open 24 hours"

It's daft. People will literaly be able to drink forever! i dont drink alot either, but anyone can get into a state where they dont know when to stop drinking.

People are going to loose money, health and it may cause more social problems too.

All i can say is...i hope im very wrong!

I have mixed opinions about this.

I work part-time as a barman, and I personally wouldn't want to be working from 12 midnight onwards.

However, if you do serve 24 hours, you remove the problem of all the drunks being thrown out onto the streets at the same time, people will just drift off - could potentially cause less trouble.

I do agree with Tom though, the whole drinking culture here is retarded.
