Default theese big guys lift nothing and my not so proud of stats.

Ive noticed that most of the guys in the gym i go to are only liffting 40-50kg (including the barbell) on the flat bench and this is there heaviest set, yet theese guys got some decent size. There form is shit and the weight is pathetic for there 15+stone of beef. They lock there elbows at the top of the rep and struggle to do 10reps on 50kg. :? .
Since ive been on this forum ive realised im not particuly strong at all compared to guys on this forum, but im liffting more then anyone ive seen at my gym so i dont no were im at.If i give you my stats which i havn't done before could anyone say how im doing so i know what i should be aiming for in years to come?.Oh by the way my lifts are good form and done slowly even on my heaviest sets.

Im 6ft2 13+ stone
flat bench press 70kg for about 8+ reps
millitary press 45kg 8 reps (i hate theese)
ezbar curl 40kg 6 reps

My arm is 15 inches tensed.
width of my shoulders is 48cm (1 side to the other)

i know what your saying D, i see some huge guys at the gym lifting fairly low weight also if you look at the jay cutler vid he dosnt really lift big either

Im 6ft7 15.5 stone
flat bench press 130kg for 1+ rep max and prob about 110 for 6 reps
millitary press 50kg 8 reps
ezbar curl 40kg 10 reps

i'm also squat and deadlifting about 130 for 8 reps dont really like to do 1 rep max on these but done ATG

right this second my arm is 15.5 flexed
not sure if i measured my shoulders the same as you but they measure 60 cm from one side to the other

how does every one else measure up?

Sam

There has been some big/strong boys in my gym before, I can thik of 5 or 6 off the top of my head but at the moment I am the strongest in my gym and my training partner slightly behind me.

theres about 5 or 6 of 'us' at the gym (i hope its not arrogant of me to say) who are the strongest. i've seen very few who have benched >120kgs, deadlifted >160, shoulder pressed the 40kg dumbells.

not to say that there aren't some big rugger buggers that train in our posh bristol university gym !

After reading this post i had to really think about the weight that I lift, and had to sit and count it up in my head. This is probably due to the fact that I don't really pay attention to the numbers. I know what disks I pile on to the bars and am always gradually trying to add a bit more.

Ever since I started training I have been a stickler for proper form and aim to make the muscle that I am working burn and tighten as much as possible until failure. There is nothing worse than watching guys lugging huge weights about with no form or control, this can only be an injury waiting to happen.

YOU CONTROL THE WEIGHT, DON'T LET THE WEIGHT CONTROL YOU!!!!
