Default Whats everybody paying for gym membership?

The gym Im at presently charges 29.50 per month with no contract (fitness connection, Seaforth, Lpool) its ok it has a lot of weighted machines but the free weights room could be better. I went to try another gym last month, after all a change is as good as a rest, but they wanted me to pay a year up front and it was 40 per month so I stayed at my old one.
Ive also heard that if you can get your doctor to prescribe gym membership for you the NHS will pay half, although I suppose you would have to be on the dole for this.
Can any body recommend a good gym in or near Liverpool.

wow big daddy thats cheap.

At university we pay 240 for the entire 3 year period (covering 12 months, not just term - time) - which works out at something like 6.65 a month.... the benefits of uni eh!

My gym from home was David LLoyd club chigwell (yes, from birds of a feather), which was full of famous people and footballers and the rich generally, and that was close to 80 a month.

Then I moved to 'physicals' gym south woodford, which is like 30 a month.

Without a doubt the best gym i've ever trained in is the david lloyd club and i wish that i could afford their prices these days, i do go back occassionally, but just pay the guest entry fee of 12.

Yeh its pretty cheap Nick, great gym too, full of really great guys and girls, some really great body builders aswell.
When you enter a BB Show you either get Free membership or some money towards gear/supllements.
The guy that owns the gym is really sound, you be well looked after

Thats just madness 80 a month or 12 a session, wouldn't pay it atall

My gym charges 3 a session or 8 a week, so it comes to 32 a month for me.

Mines only a small gym, got free weights and mirrors, what more could you need?

21 a month, open from 5am - 9.30pm weekdays and 5am - 2pm weekends. Has all necessary equipment and DBs up to 60Kg in 2.5Kg increments. Not full of the best physiques in the world but a good friendly atmosphere.

wow all these gym are so cheap

i thought my 30/month gym was super cheap when i joined.

the david lloyd centre was not only the largest gym in europe for a couple of years, but it has the highest quality spa and leisure facilities, 2 swimming pools, jacuzzi sauna steam, tennis courts etc, broadband internet, its huge, building like 50 million pounds. (to put in perspective what ur paying for)

I go to the same university gym as nick.

Also i go to Fitness First in Birmingham when i'm there, which costs 30/mo - crap gym really, there's like 1 bench and 1 smith machine + dbs/bbs. Lame really, and way too oversubscribed.
