Why do?

hatch backs have rear screen wipers and saloons dont? this is really starting to bug me now. first i thought it had something to do with the angle of the glass but nope all diffrent types of angles

can anyone help me so i can move on and worry about some more important things

well, as far as i know a saloon is a bar in the old west...so unless you can clue me in as to what the bloody hell a saloon is over there. if i assume correctly you are referring to a car with a trunk...and for the most part with a trunk its because the back window is fairly vertical...at leats enough so that water runs off freely. now with a hatch back the window stretches to the back of the car in most cases so the water runs more slowly. hell, i want to know why some cars have wipers for the headlights, like mercedes...too much money, too little taste.

whats a trunk? elephants have trunks! cars with a boot are saloons. i was walking round tesco carpark and notices that it doesn't matter what angle the glass is at vertical or horisontal hatch back all had wipers and saloons didnt

it bothers me

oh... thats right, and the hood is a bonnet, right? the glass is shorter on a saloon because of the boot.
