Instructors in a gym even the big ones get paid peanuts at my gym its something like 5.60 an hour a friend of mine did it part time not for the money but because he got a free membership out of it. He said he hadn't a clue how the other instructors made a living doing it full time. A personal trainer in a gym is different at my gym Personal trainers charge 30 an hour and the gym take a 10 cut of that as there using the gym's facilities so they can earn a pretty good living. Obviously personal trainers who come to your home earn a lot more than that so it really depends on what type of instructor you want to be... As for the getting laid part well my friend used to get quite a few phone numbers from the ladies but on saying that he was a two time British bodybuilding champion with the gift of the gab so I think again it depends on what you look like and who you are rather than what your job is. Still it does give you the chance to meet some ladies and press the flesh as it were, but keep in mind most of the women that want personal training arn't going to be looking like fitness models! |

As for qualification's I' m not sure some instructors I know have degree's in Sport's Science and others just have NVQ's and city and guild's best thing to do next time your in the gym is ask one of them how they got into it, and what qualifications they have. |

Posts: 573 Rep Power: ![]() | someone has should be making some cash out of it cos you'd be lucky to find one for less than 30 an hour but i guess if you have to give half/third of that to the gym, pay for ya car, petrol and 18% tax you'd only be getting 10-15 an hour which aint so good concidering most of your work would be in the evenings/weekends when noone else was working and if you work at diffrent gyms then you spend a lot of time traveling between gyms and not getting paid for it Sam 8) |
