Opinions on America and Americans?

I lived in the UK for around 27 years and have lived in the US for about 5 years so I've obviously seen both sides. With the media coverage America receives it's easy to come to the conclusion they are all fat, lazy, loud mouthed pricks. In reality there are some very good people here, you just have to search a little harder. Overall I think America is great place but I wouldn't say it's better than anywhere else.

Hold all your views on most Americans until you have to deal with them in a customer service situation, the true colours show then, most of them are ****ing ****s.

George Bush is also ****ing the country up bad, and although Clinton always tried to be a nice guy there was alot of shit he done that was just as ****ed up as what Bush has done, the blind leading the blind comes to mind.

besides my first serious girlfriend lives in carolina now, she had this thing the more she got hurt the further she would run at the end of it. the furthest she went before me was from middlesborough to brighton i got her all the way to south carolina :shock: top job

Your opinions are what I expected. As far as egos go, I feel the same about Brits being agotistical but I judge everyone on their own. Most of what we see here is how soccer fans are insane! lol

The middleast was pretty much left to it's own devices for a while and it got worse and worse. I agree in part with what we are doing there.

However, I really just wish we would pull out of every country on earth and say fukkem all, let them kill each other or whatever they want to do.

This whole planet is corrupt and the greedy politicians use it as a playground to make more and more money for themselves and their corporate buddys.

central southern america (ie no contact with the rest of the world) is quite scarily indoctrinated. The East and West coasts are a different story. Ive been to florida 3 times Miami and New York and think Americans are some of the nicest proudest most confident people and i amire them as a nation for their work ethic tremendously. What u gotta remember is that its a baby compared to almost all other nations and still trying to form an identity after the changes its been through.
I admire their patriotism so much and wish instead of being inherently self critical Britain was more like our counterparts in the US. But then thats just too much wishful thinking when our 2 opposition parties are so scared that their own views are not shared by a majority of the electorate and our government spends its entire time spinning its policies if it has any and its achievements to be 10 times better than they are. Well thats my rant over. I hate the french btw although i have french friends just the nation as a whole not individually. I'm also a conservative just in case anyone actually cares.

I think American people are like anyone other nation. Some good some bad. Being a big nation though the numbers of each are high which can create problems.

As for American politics then i think thats a joke. George Bush has alot to answer for. I mean he is the most powerful man in the world bar none and cant even read properly.

As for Arnie as Govenor its an even bigger joke that Bush. I mean he was a brilliant bodybuilder. He made some decent movies but a politician lmao. Can you imagine David Beckham running for Prime Minister lol. Its the same sort of thing.

I have a few American pals on the boards and they are realy cool and nice people. Its US politics and laws that give the US a bad name imo.

Hope i havent offended anyone and i think it was an excellent question. Not one that would be asked on most boards so seeing as i was asked for an honest opinion i though i would give one.
