Default Posing, dehydrating, tensing ready for photos

Hello there

Looking for tips on how to achieve the best look for photos. I know that the professionals dehydrate themselves for hours (sauna etc) - i have no access to a sauna but how/when is the best time to take photos and how should i prepare for them?

Should i work out before taking them, should I not eat and drink? What is the best light to do it in? Should i starve before?

Also looking for advice on how to achieve those classic bodybuilding poses that all the big guys do.

Any advice would be great,

Thanks

practice in the mirror till you have a good idea of what you are getting right. never forget that you are looked at from all angles. eventually try and wean yourself off the mirror so you have a good feel for your poses in your minds eye and ideally get someone that knows poses well to watch and correct you and give you any tips that are needed.
drink LOADS OF WATER for at least a week leading up to your pics getting taken around 6 litres a day then the night before cut your water right back to 2 litres over that day as your body will be tricked into passing as much fluid out as it was previously. 2 glasses of wine the night before also 2 help dry you out. day of the pics sip on about a litre of water till pics are taken, i would also cut your carbs right back the week leading up to your pics with perhaps 2 zero carb days 3 days before the pics are to be taken then slowly carb up on potatoes and pasta and just be careful not to carb spill. this is were a trained eye is invaluable to keep an eye on you to check for this. try and get the pics taken in the morning when you are tightest and i found that peanut butter or milk chocolate was excellant to bring out vascularity if you are ripped. hope this is a bit of help to you.
