Default HELP NEEDED!!

Ow do and thanks for clicking on this topic!
i had been going to the gym for roughly 2 years, and was making great progress i even entered Mr.Cumbria (Under 18's) last year.
And i was still growing, i was loving it. But i also played rugby (league) and in the last game of the season i broke my collar bone.
That was over 8 weeks ago now, and i'm beginning to think about going back to the gym. to get back to my old muscular self.
Any suggestions???
i'd really really appreciate it.
Not being able to go to the gym has been killing me  . as any gym enthusiast will understand.
My doc said 2 months, but a never trust em.
any feedback would be great!?!?

Hiya Big_Ste, welcome to the board mate, i can sympathise a lot with you, as i am off just on docs say so, before i started bodybuilding i was riding racehorses, and over many years broke both my collarbones on several occasions, it depends on you mate, if the doc says 8 weeks and tells you to go and train fine, but if he hasnt passed you fit then wait until he does, because of the injury and how it affects the body its a swine to make a rapid recovery, as soon as the doc says go, just start off 3 days a week for about 2-3 weeks, slowly build up what you have lost, then when you have diet, training and evrything in place go for it, incidentally which collar bone did you break left or right, as a physio said to me years ago, depending on the person if they are predominantlyleft or right handed it has a big effect on which collar bone you break, sounds like a load of shite, but its not the first time i have been told. Anyway mate i know its been a drag but i hope i have helped in a small way.

Dave.

Default Watch it big ste

Hi there big ste

Watch what your doing mate, if you jump in too soon you may put yourself back a few more months.

I dislocated my shoulder last year in the gym (hit punch bag a bit too hard) and I couldn't lift weights at all for around 6 weeks, and to lift them comfortably took around 15 weeks, and that was only a dislocation!

There are still certain things I can't do now, like pec dec, shoulder press behind head, and I have to be real careful with heavy weights when training shoulders.

I know its frustrating when your a gym nut, but break yourself in gently and you will get there eventually.

Good luck

gail

get back into it slowly, i got my left elbow shattered last year, they took the supporting wires out this May, after a year and i gradually inscreased weights/reps/sets etc as and when i felt comfortable

i feel ok now, and becuase they messed about putting the muscles in and out etc, my elbow on hurts when i really work my triceps hard

dont over-do it!
