That is an excellent idea, about the t- shirts,if you started that and they went well, who knows Steve, as they say the skies the limit, you could roll out anything, by the way why dont you call your products after the board,if anything they will be as successful. Keep us posted on the shirts mate and good luck TJ i am sure you will get a call soon.

Dave.

Just to update people: -

Got this email tonight from them....

Hi Simon,

I wanted to get in touch with you regarding the two hour science special we
are going to put out on Channel 4 during the Olympics.

i think you spoke to either Sarah or Tom regarding this before and i wanted
to send you some more information and ask you to give me call asap if you are
still interested as we are going ahead very quickly with the show..

The basic premise of the project is an experiment that will examine athletic
performance enhancement methods to see if they actually improve athletic
performance or not. We are working in co-operation with and have received
ethical approval from the Southern Cross University in New South Wales
Australia. New Scientist here in the UK is also co-producing the experiment
to test the effectiveness of a steroid as a PED.

We are currently casting for our (male) competitors from the UK, Australia
and the USA. We are going to form 2 groups of athletes with 16 participants
in one group and six in the other. Of Group One (16), eight will be on
steroids and eight will be on placebo. Our third group will be an
illustrative one, a kind of pot pourri of enhancement methods and things
that give a legal athletic edge. These will possibly include caffeine,
creatine, oxygen
training and bicarbonate of soda etc..

The eight British 'subjects' who need to be reasonably fit at the outset,
will go through a psychological evaluation before they go to Australia.
Whilst in New South Wales they will go through a six week training course in
speed, endurance, flexibility and power, building up to a competition at the
end of the six weeks to gauge improvements in their performances.

We will have a Sports Psychologist, medical doctor and the scientists at hand
to monitor the volunteers, who will also participate in a number of other
activities, making the most of the Australian terrain and landscape. Those
activities could include surfing, paragliding and kayaking. The subjects will
ultimately get the unique opportunity to train with leading experts in the
field of sports science. As you can imagine the location is very attractive
being the best surfing in Australia with beach huts on the sand etc..

Training and filming will be in Australia (on the NSW coast)through the end
of May and July of this year. Expenses (flight/ accom/ food etc. will be
covered by us). The programme will be transmitted on July 31st prior to the
Olympics this summer.

This is only a brief description of the show and I would be keen to speak
to you about your initial thoughts about it, queries, possible issues and
whether or not you are interested in finding out more/ possible being
involved in the project.

I replyed to them and then the phone rang, we chated (me and Zoe) woo who...lol and it seems Im still in, she's going to ring me again soon.

I know what is happening with it all now: dates, training etc etc.

Hi Benj,

Im down to the last 6 people (18 in total from the US, Aust and UK), (I'll be representing this country) so it could be definate. Im able to travel to at the end of the month so it looks quite promising...

Will be away for 6 weeks and having some great fun surfing, sunbathing relaxing and lots more..not forgeting training and competing and taking steroids...possibly (if Im in that group).

Get that T-shirt ready Steve.....lol, and yes I will be on t.v 100%, if I get picked (of course).

Any developments that come along and I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything!
