Default Illness

New to the board so hi all!

Im sure havin real opinion will be much better than cruising the net find useless advice on how some new pill will give me abs of steel.

Ok my question.

I just had what the doc said was tonsillitis and since I had it ive just not had the determination that i normally put into my workouts, plus im weaker to, my bench has dropped 15kg.

Just wondering if anybody has had a simalar problem or has any advice on how to get my motivation back?

Default ILLNESS

Hi there, I am just finishing antibiotics for a infection in my sinuses, and to be honest with you i have not lifted anything since last week, i would rather lose 1 or 2 weeks and get my immune system to 100% than risk making myself open to anything else around, so all ive done is rest eat and sleep, my doc says that when you have an infection or more serious then you virtually shut down i was weak as water, couldnt lift or even warm up. My advice for what its worth is to leave alone and do the above but evryone is different. Hope this helped in some small way.

dave.

welcome to the musclechat board patriot

youll soon put the weight back on the bench press,

a good way to get your motivation back,is to up your protein intake,

and maybe treat yourself to a new supplement or something,

i had to take a month off recently and to get me back into it i took pinnacle adrenerlin, felt like i was on speed

this always seems to work with me mate

i hope this helps.

and like themule says rest is very important.

Hi mate

One thing I will sa is your body needs to firstly recover from the shock of an infection, get some immunity boosters, eat plenty, and drink plenty of fluids. This will help you fight it. You must take a break as you will recover quicker and dont worry about the weight dropping on your bench, that will come back very quickly when you are healed!!

Good luck!

your body is still in recovery, you can try high dose vit c, echinachia or tiger claw supps to keep cols/flu away in the future they work for some.

Have a week off with a good diet and plenty of protein, get loads of sleep and take it easy. You will be ready to lift the roof of the gym when you get back
