Default The Most For My Money

Hey, I am 17 and eat regularily through te day breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and odd times inbetween.

At college I only have £2 for dinner per day and go to the local asda, what food could I get that would fill me and also e a high source of protein as I try to stretch it as far as I can.

Cheers, Ash

Any cold meat like chicken. roast beef, turkey or boiled ham would work for you as long as you don't buy the packs of reclaimed stuff which is not so good.

you'd get half a chicken and a couple of wholemeal bread buns for about that i bet.

would work out cheaper to go once a week and prepare stuff beforehand though.

yup defo pre prepare..

my god i saw a tv prog on reclaimed meat and they literally squeeze the sht outta bones and this gunk comes out that looks like diarhea (sp) and yup its classed as protein..

and the meat industry as a rule do not like talking about it.

Like Andy has said - some cooked chicken, maybe some fresh whole meal bread from the bakery if you want some cheap carbs and you are away.

Ok well I usually get a tuna sandwich on wholemeal bread for a quid, would this be sufficient or as much protein as a chicken sandwich? Or should I switch to chicken?

If its pre made then id bet there isnt a whole lot of tuna in there.. so not a whole lot of protein.

you could make your own for less.. and with more protein too though! whats a tin of tuna - 50p and the same for a couple of buns or a loaf?

so 5 tins a week - £2.50 and a quid for a loaf of bread, same again for some low fat mayo.. job done!
