Have you tried sugar-free jelly with your peanut-butter sandwiches. Makes it not so dry and easier to swallow.

Exclamation Re: sandwich suggestions

Sorry guys or maybe to be argumentative ....

It’s difficult to get a good protein to carb ratio with a sarnie, if you put too much filling in it falls out...

To qualify the above;

Most bread is approx 32 gram carb per slice.
At 135lb even wanting to gain lean weight you should be starting at a basal level of 405 grams of carbs per day , given you’ve probably got a high metabolic rate maybe 500gram.

You should be aiming for circa 6 meals per day and dividing your nutrient requirement roughly equally but with a bias towards carbs in the morning, avoiding late night carbs.

So divide 405 grams across 6 meals that’s 67.5 grams per meal. Or just north of two slices not the 6 you are eating with 6 cheese sandwiches.

Given the above you are not going to get the required amount of protein between two slices (or 3) of bread!
Hence Sandwiches are not a good option!!

Why not try a Tupperware meal, can be eaten anywhere and easy to make (even better my wife makes mine) tasty and no bigger than 6 cheese sandwiches...

Good options; chicken and pasta, chicken and salad with 200g of baked spud, mince and rice, tuna and pasta with a bit of mayo and sweet corn, mince and pasta... you get the idea.

You aren’t going to look like a bodybuilder throwing cheese or any other sandwiches down your neck as a mainstay of your diet .

bit off topic, i know but when you count your carbs, do you include the few carbs in your protein source or do you just count the carbs in your carbs source (mainly oats for me) to reach your final number?

Here. here, finally a sensible suggestion - I can't believe so many people bother wasting time and effort eating sandwiches. Good work Pikey, give chicken and rice anyday of the week (well in fact, it's everyday of the week!)
