Default Bulking for competition

For the past 4 months or so now ive been trying to bulk up pretty good for my attempt at my first show. im about 5'10" 215-217 lbs. ive been bulking up pretty good.

during this time ive cut pretty much all my cardio and im noticing im holding a good amount of unwanted fat on my lower back. it looks bad with a good V shaped back and decent thickness. my thing is i was a fat kid and ive always haeld fat there, but it seems to be getting a bit worse.

my diet is still kind of clean. i keep my carbs to fruits and mostly alot of wholewheat pasta and oatmeal in the morning. my protein consists of eggs (whole and whites) chicken , steak tuna and powder. my fats r my eggs, peanut butter almonds and alot of olive oil that i put on my pasta. now sometimes ill throw in cheese and othre things. i cheat here and there and dont worry too much since its bulking season.

my big quetion is 12 weeks out of a show, is that fat gona be burned away (if everything , diet and cardio is in check) ? or for my first show should i diet a bit longer since i prob hold more fat than most ppl who have done the insane dieting and have that thin skin look alrdy?

i say diet for slighty longer than you feel you'll need to. being ready two weeks before the show is preferable to being ready two weeks after. besides, the longer you give yourself, the less extreme the diet has to be.

Hi Mate

Also the longer the diet the more time the skin will tighten up and look better before comp time. Id personally try and get someone to have a look at u and offer a bit of guidence (someone that has competed before).

all the best

R

Why did you cut out cardio off season?

I would say that is hampering your gains. I do 40 minutes every day off season in the morning and this makes me eat like a horse for the rest of the day.

Most of what you have gained fat wise will come off in the first 6 weeks, its the visceral fat that has been lodged there for years that will be the problem.
