Default Alcohol and avoiding the gut

Just looking at another thread... and thought id raise this as a question.

Like many of you on the board im sure, I drink alot!

Now drinking lager will directly increase calorific intake, and if like me you easily neck about 6-8 pints or so you can see the problem.

But could the solution be.. to just drink spirits instead????

Its alot less calories

What you guy think, i know its not a sensible solution but at least you can drink and not worry about highly increased calorific intake.

As I dont know about you, I like to drink and couldn't stop probably if i wanted to.

Reduction of your consumption would be the key...

Drink water every other drink?

If you're going to have spirits at least have them with some kind of juice which isn't just empty calories...

Do more cardio...?

Go out less...?

Buy less booze from the Supermarket...?

I do no cardio as it happens, im bulking and dont really believe in doing cardio with it.

However, I walk alot so burn calories that way.

Drinking water with every other drink, when your on the lash when do you ever do that lol.....

Going out less..... hmm im young its what i do lol

I dont buy booze from the supermarket fortunately.

See I like my bodybuilding but I like my social life as well.

I still look good with all the drinking i do though so cant complain too much. And im sure once I start my cut and im doing cardio 4-6 times a week the wee guy will all get shredded off.

I'd be more concerned with the hormonal/metabolic effects of alcohol consumption over the actual calories. As long as you avoid fat consumption pre/post alcohol, it isn't a disaster purely in terms of producing adipose.

this is a very good question. i have looked this up alot aswell.

from what i read spirits - like vodka - are the best. wiskey is alot worse than vodka.
and its the stuff mixed with the spirits that pack on the fat. try and drink diet coke with them - or if uve got the balls to ask at the bar a vodka and pepsi max haha.

this is what i have read across the web, have no factual evidence to justify this so no shouting at me if im wrong.
