Default Too much protien??!!!

People keep telling me that your body can only absorb so much protien and that i am waisting food as i am eating too much.

I disagree!

I eat about 7 - 9 portions (30g-40g) at even spaced intervals of around 2 hours throughout the day.

Approx 2-3 chicken breasts, 3 whey shakes and 4-5 cans of tuna.

I am tryin to cut at the moment and retain muscle mass so the aim is to reduce carbs whilst keeping calorie intake high.

there is no proof what so ever that an individuals body can only absorb one given amount of protein. we are all different and therefore our bodies react differently.

what you need to do is to work out your protein requirements for the day normally 1.5g per lb of body-weight then divide by 6 or by as many meals you have per day, i will say though that 2hrs is not a lot of time for the body to assimilate and digest a meal i would leave it 2.5 - 3hrs

as long as your not getting any ill effects (poor digestion etc.) then your body is absorbing it all.

imagine an ethiopian.... suddenly given 10 chicken breasts... he eats them all.. do you think his body would only process the first 30g of protein from this meal? or would it take everything it could???? your body is not that stupid.

altho i would say that if you ARE experiencing any kind of digestion problems you may well not be assimilating it all.
