Cakes! thats reason enough to come off the atkins!
With all the money saved from not being on the atkins, one could probably eat whatever they fancy and with the money saved get liposuction 3 times a year.

When I was on it I had my cholestorol etc. checked regularly and all was ok. So who's patronising now ?
I also don't care whether or not you've tried it, I was giving my experience of it not your's.

i am not a girl and i believe it is a crap way to diet as it is not maintainable long term....people use it because it makes them think it is an easy quick way to lose weight but the majority of the weight that is lost is water not fat

i used tha Atkins diet with great success, so suppose its true what they say, some people get on well with it and suppose some don't. personally for me it was perfect and a great way, i still use it today but not to its exteem.

thats my experiance, diets all depend on peoples appitite for food, i really struggle with good food, so Atkins was great.

pscarb, im going get slated here. ill revert back to the principals of atking as in very low carbs and just eat things like egg, bacon, chicken, beef, steak. i tend to stay away from the satuated fats though. im not on it now im more on 80% protien and 20% carbs. what do u think?

Ali this is fine as the biggest issue with Atkins is the saturated fats but as you say you adjust yours so you do not eat those foods...

What you have said you do now is slightly confusing as 80% protein and 20% carbs is impossible because you have no fats????

i use carb cycling all year round but i am much stricter when show time comes around if you are going to use carb cycling then you need to first work out what you daily protein needs are this is by simply mulitpling your bodyweight by 1.5 this will give you the amount of protein you need to consume daily, once you have the amount keep it stable every day then adjust the carbs and the fats to suit both your metabolism and your goals....you can see my breakdown on carb cycleing in my log...

Cool reply thanks pscarb, i suppose i do get some fats in but no where near as many as the Atkins would suggest.

With my meals suppose im not very good at working these out, so i just try to get more proteins than carbs kind of 80 to 20 split over the day. ill take on board your comments though, i already consume around 50g of ptotein 6 X daily, im now of to look at your log.

thanks paul
