Default Knackard

I basically follow the diet which is posted as a sticky in this section for bulking. Works well for me, I enjoy eating truck loads anyhow so it is easy for me to get it all in.

Recently though, Id say the last three weeks I have started to feel a bit drained, physically I dont feel as if I have much energy, mentally dont feel too smart either. My motivation the gym is droping, normally I can't wait to get in the gym, I rarely suffer from lack of motivation.

It was only 6 weeks ago that I had two weeks off, which I some times do to allow myself to recover a bit. I have cut down the amount of work I am doing in the gym, I am pretty sure Im not over training, but I am still feeling less than wonderful.

Any ideas why? Could I alter my diet...increase my carbs maybe? I sometimes get very confused with the different therorys especially relating to carbs.

it might not be overtraining from weights-
whats you out of gym life like-are you stressed-do you get 8 hrs sleep everynite,etc

could you be overestimating youre recovery?

if you know youre eating ok i wouldnt think it was diet related.

i think its great that you have time off,but have you trained flat out since you got back into it?

Four times a week....two days of at a weekend a day off in the middle of the week. 8 hours sleep a night.

I am going to take a week off next week to see if this helps...but I never normally feel this drained even when I am on the brink of overtraining.

I am actually feeling pretty stressed at the moment, things havnt really been going my way and Im under a bit of pressure..it could be that, but normally when Im under stress I am much more motivated in the gym.

I think having a week off is the best thing I can do. It's possible that I am just run down I suppose....which would probably lead to me overtraining.

just throwing ideas at ya bud.you should be able to put your fingure on it tho if you examine the factors-
another rest wont hurt.

{as i`m sure you know i think 4 x week training is a lot for a natty}

Ha. Yes I do know that. Fanatical about not overtraining (and squats and deads!!!) I am in no position to disagree with you really, and I think you are right.

I have actually dramatically cut down the amount of sets I do, although maybe I should start considering adopting an approach more like yours. Although my squats will be proper manly deep ones!!!
