Default Tap Water. Good or Bad??

I sweat like a mother F***er , always have done. Obviously this gets worse when i exercise, so most days i drink approx 8 to 10 litres of water. At the momoent i drink bottled mineral water, which almost everyone would agree including me is better than tap water!

I was just wondering what u guys do? and whats your opinion on the whole subject.

I get some funny looks in the supermarket i can tell u! i shop once a week and going through the check out with just a whole trolley of water (70 odd litres) is a little embarrassing!!

for what reason do you only drink bottled mineral water?

what is wrong with regular water?

Not sure where u are from but down here in sunny kent there is so much chalk around, the water is very hard and taste like sh*t generally.
Some days in a pint glass u can hardly see the bottom its so cloudy (slight exaggeration there) , and is smells like swimming pool water!

I just read all the time that bottled mineral water is so much better for u, but if there is no real nutrional advantage then i will just put a peg on my nose and down the tap water!!

water is water mate.... if you drink water with additives in then no doubt your body will get used to them for a while....

rather than spend a fortune on water... why not spend some money on a britta filter??? to clean the crap out of the water????

can i just make a point... sorry for sounding like a **** here... BUT so many people make nutritional decisions... yet actual dont really know WHY they are doing it or eactly how they will benefit?? its a bit silly!

I am gonna have to respectfully disagree with u there mate, i dont agree water is water!

Tap water has added chemicals in it which makes is safe for us to drink.

Mineral water has basically been caught from natural streams, most likely close to mountain ranges where is has pasted through rocks etc, which is where it gets its higher concentration of minerals from.

I know for a fact that doctors strongly advise against giving babies or young children mineral water, also my father takes a medication called Alendronic acid (treatment for Osteoporosis) and it says large as life on the label Do not take with mineral water.

So anyways! my point is this wouldnt be the case if 'water was water'

If u say there is no nutrional advantage as such from a bodybuilders point of view then i sure as hell aint gonna argue with that tho!

Think ill go buy a btitta filter now

yes different water does have different minerals etc. and different concentrations of minerals in.... but do you drink water to get these minerals in your diet?

or do you drink water because your body needs water??? from this stand point... water is water!

ok, see your point. Maybe i didnt come across right. no worries mate.

i do have a good understanding of macronutrients, vitamins, minerals, efa etc. and where to obtain each of these from food sources and the major role they play in our bodies. (not meant to sound big headed or ****y)

Maybe is was a darft question to start on my behalf!

Anyway, from bodybuilders point of view water is water. cool. thanks for your help.
